A "Mobility Hub" for Courthouse?
Level of Effort: 5 minutes, at home, in your PJs
Deadline: Sun 10/27 11:59pm

Arlington is exploring the idea of "Mobility Hubs", places intentionally designed to make it easy to connect to and from different transportation options, particularly walking, biking, shared mobility (e.g., bikeshare, scootershare, carshare, taxicabs, rideshare), public transit, and electric vehicle charging.

The first intentionally designed hub in Arlington could be at the Courthouse Metro.  Weigh in today with how Courthouse could be a better and easier place to connect to or between transportation options!

Courthouse most needs:

  • safer bike & scooter parking, we've heard of multiple people who have bicycles stolen from racks in Courthouse
  • better wayfinding between modes
  • safe, comfortable, easy-to-find-and-refer-to places to wait for people when you're meeting up that have shade & seating

It is hard to tell what the best exit is from MetroRail.
When exiting MetroRail it is hard to find any of the connecting modes and it is hard to orient yourself to where you are.

We wish it was easier to know when arriving in Courthouse:

  • Where is my bus and how long before it leaves (do I have to run?)
  • Where is my closest bikeshare station and does it have bikes (better yet, e-bikes?)
  • Where in Courthouse am I? (because I may have come out of a different MetroRail exit than last time, or this may be my first time taking this bus to Courthouse)
