A Beautiful New Gateway Park in Rosslyn, but can anybody safely get to it?
Level of Effort: 15 minutes, at home in your PJs
Deadline: Fri July 19, 11:59pm

With construction funding available, designing an updated Gateway Park in Rosslyn has kicked into high gear.  This park is a true urban park with only 5% of park users arriving by car & is directly across the street from Custis Trail and easily accessible from the Mount Vernon Trail.

We won't opine much about what we think the best designs are, other than urging the inclusion of vital trailhead amenities (restrooms, water bottle fillers, bike repair stations, food), but we're adamant that this jewel of an amenity needs to be more safely accessible!  Right now it is ringed with highways and unsafe crossings.  Tell Arlington that an amazing park accessed primarily by people walking & biking needs to be safe to access by walking & biking!

Did we miss anything? [MOST IMPORTANT FEEDBACK]
Building a beautiful new park is pointless if nobody can safely get to it.  This site is ringed with dangerous, overbuilt arterial roads with too many lanes.  We need road diets and protected bike lanes so people can safely cross and travel along these roads to access the park.  Adding one more unsafe crosswalk at Moore Street isn't going to cut it.
