Repaving for Complete Streets
Level of Effort: 10-30 minutes at home, in your PJs
Deadline: Tue 7/5 11:59pm

Arlington has a proud history of making safety improvements through repaving.  If a street is being repaved anyway, why not put it back better and safer than it was before?

This year, the County has proposed improvements to the following areas and we think they look great - improved bike lanes, improved crossings, right-sizing many lane widths & an important road diet on Wilson Blvd.  They aren't as full-featured as we would want from a capital project, but given the constraints of repaving (curbs don't move, etc) we think they're fantastic & deserve our support!

  • N Ohio St between 12th Rd N & Washington Blvd
  • The S Abingdon Rd / 34th St S bridge of I-395
  • Clarendon Blvd from N Garfield St to N Adams St
  • Clarendon Blvd from N Courthouse Rd to N Scott St
  • Wilson Blvd from George Mason Dr to N Vermont St

Be sure to take the survey for each of the segments & let the County know you'd feel much safer traveling on the updated versions of these streets & then if you have specific comments, jump into the detailed maps at the end.
