Rosslyn's "Subterranean Safeway" is certainly one of the more unique grocery store designs in the region. As a pedestrian, you will follow a walkway next to the driveway entrance and descend into a parking garage structure that leads to the store's entrance door. The sidewalks along Wilson Blvd are wide and generally in good condition other than a few areas where bricks have shifted. There is also a landscaping strip with street lights, trees, and assorted Rosslyn BID street furniture. There are signalized intersections with well-marked crosswalks in either direction at Wilson Blvd & N Oak St and Wilson Blvd & N Pierce St. A mid-block Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) is also located right by the entrance for crossing Wilson Blvd.

The Metrobus 38B and 4B routes both serve the nearby Wilson Blvd & N Oak St stop which includes benches and a digital information display but no shelter. The Wilson Blvd & N Pierce stop is served by the ART 45 route in addition to the Metrobus 38B and 4B routes and offers a bus shelter with seating. Unfortunately, the closest bus stop in the eastbound direction is at Clarendon Blvd & N Ode St which is about a ¼ mile walk to the entrance due to the lack of pedestrian crossings along that stretch of Clarendon Blvd.

Biking to and from this location can be somewhat inconvenient because it’s in the middle of a one-way superblock. Assuming you do not want to walk or ride your bike on sidewalks, a circuitous (and hilly) route may be required to access the store. Once you reach the driveway entrance by bike, you can head down towards the back of the garage to the left of store entrance. Here you will find a bike cage that unfortunately only has a wheel bender rack. There is also a bollard-style bike rack outside the store along the Wilson Blvd sidewalk that is primarily used for micromobility device parking. A Bikeshare station is also located down Wilson Blvd at the intersection with N Oak St.
