Save Bike/Pedestrian Funding in Virginia: Don't Dumb Down Smart Scale
Level of Effort: 5 minutes, at home in your PJs
Deadline: Mon 11/13 11:59pm

Smart Scale is a Virginia State transportation grant program that has funded a number of important Arlington Transportation projects including the upcoming rebuild of the Mt Vernon Trail, the Crystal City Metro East Entrance, and protected bike lanes and bus service expansion in the Rosslyn-Ballston Corridor.  Smart Scale uses objective criteria to ensure that Virginia is funding the best transportation projects, rather than just vanity projects with political support.

Virginia leaders are now considering changing those criteria to disadvantage small, cost-effective pedestrian & projects in favor of large highway expansions far from jobs and population centers.  Speak up today to keep stop the dumbing-down of Smart Scale & ensure we are funding the most cost-effective transportation projects in the places that people live and work.

The Take Action link will take you to a form from our partners at the Coalition for Smarter Growth that includes a draft email that you can customize however you see fit.
