Let's Talk Trails in Virginia

Virginia is developing its first statewide trails plan and they want to hear from you.  We think it's important that as many people as possible complete the survey to demonstrate the broad support for trails in Virginia and also that we speak up for two important things: 1) that Virginia needs to fund a mix of both long-distance trails connecting multiple jurisdictions, and also small local trails that connect neighborhoods to schools, dining, employment, etc. 2) that Virginia needs trail standards that ensure new and rebuilt trails are designed to support bikes with long wheelbase like cargo bikes and bikes pulling trailers.

For the question "Is there any other information regarding multi-use trails you would like to share?", please include support for the following:

Virginia should fund a mix of long-distance trails connecting multiple municipalities and shorter-distance trails within communities that connect neighborhoods to schools, employment, shopping, and more.  The Trails Office should develop trail construction standards that ensure any new trails built can support long-wheelbase bikes like cargo bikes and bikes pulling trailers.  This will ensure that trails work for families, not just for single people.
